Environmental Hazards

Zinc Sulfate is toxic to fish and aquatic organisms. If product is spilled, comply with Federal, State, and local regulations on reporting spills. Refer to Old Bridge Chemicals Safety Data Sheet and labels for further details.

Safe Handling

Zinc Sulfate is acidic and causes severe eye irritation. It may be irritating to the skin and may cause sensitization reactions in certain individuals. Avoid breathing the dust as it may be irritating to the upper respiratory tract. Contact with eyes and skin should be avoided using safety goggles and rubber gloves. In case of eye contact, immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for 15 minutes and call a physician. If Zinc Sulfate is ingested, call a physician. Contaminated clothing should be thoroughly washed before reuse. Refer to Old Bridge Chemicals Safety Data Sheet entitled "Zinc Sulfate Monohydrate."

Storage

Zinc Sulfate should be stored in a cool, dry place. Keep containers closed. Solutions of Zinc Sulfate should be stored in tanks fabricated of Type 316 Stainless Steel, rubber-lined steel tanks or plastic tanks.
