Olive PU-45 – 2-in-1 PU foam

Olive PU-45 – 2-in-1 PU foam is a one-component self-expanding polyurethane foam with a high-quality structure and low density, that incorporates a double application system suitable for guns and straw. OLIVE PU-45 MEGA is easy to use and once cured it is a very good thermal and acoustic insulator with very excellent adhesive properties. The cured foam dries semi-rigid and can be easily trimmed, shaped and sanded, and also painted or coated.

Features & Benefits

Benefits
  • Extra high yield: 55 LITERS. This allows doing more work with one canister: 20 linear meters (equivalent to 4 windows of 5 m.l.).
  • Long lifetime: 18 months.
  • Adheres well to most building materials like wood, concrete, stone, plaster, metal, PVC and polystyrene.
  • Suitable for use in higher temperatures, up to +40°C.
  • Excellent thermal insulation. Reducing the impact of thermal bridges.
  • High acoustic attenuation (62 dB).
  • No shrinkage after curing. Stable foam dimensions.
  • Low curing pressure and moderate post expansion avoid deformation of building elements.
  • Can be painted or coated when fully cured.
  • Ready to use. Fast and easy-to-use application.

Applications & Uses

Fields of Applications

Olive PU-45 Mega is used for various building applications:

  • Installation of doors and windows frames.
  • Insulation and fixation of tubes.
  • Filling of holes and gaps.
  • Fixation of wall panels and roof stones.
  • Thermal and acoustic insulation in general.
  • Suitable for narrow and moving joints.
Direction for Use

 Application Conditions
Air temperature during use between +5°C and +40°C, best results at +20°C. Recommended can temperature during application between +5C and +35C, best results at +20"C. At low temperatures foam can must be warmed before work in warm room or water. Temperature of room or water must not exceed +30°C.
Application Instructions
Substrates must be clean from ice, dust, oil, loose particles and grease. Substrates should be moistened as the foam expands due to the moisture. A moistened surface ensures better results. (if no moisture is available, foam will collapse into itself as it cures).
Protect eyes and wear gloves and working clothes. Protect with paper or plastic all surrounding areas.
Shake the can vigorously at least 20 times. Hold the foam can in upright position. Turn the gunto the can by holding the gun handle with one hand, and turn the can with the other hand. Make sure that the gun is not pointed to other persons when turning it. The can must not be screwed to the gun with the valve upside down or by turning the gun on the can. Turn the can upside down and start applying. The foam output can be adjusted by the gun trigger.
Half fill the cavity and spray lightly the foam with water. The foam will expand to fill the rest. When applying foam in layers moisten slightly between each layer.
When fixing window frames, hold the frame in place for approximately 24 hours until the foam is fully cured. Cured foam can be painted with water-based paints.
Cleaning
Uncured foam can be cleaned from tools and sufaces with OLIVE R-47. Cured foam can be removed mechanically.

Remarks
Unsuitable for fire protection.
There is no adhesion to PE, PP, PTFE (Teflon®) and silicones. Due to the wide variety of possible substrates, we recommenda preliminary compatibility test. Cured foam is sensitive to UV-light and direct sunlight (it will discolor) and therefore must be covered with suitable opaque sealant, filler, paint or other material.
