Features & Benefits

Product Information

For use in a range of FRUIT CROPS and ORNAMENTALS for the control of feeding mite pests.

Active Ingredient: 18 g/liter abamectin in the form of an emulsifiable concentrate.

General Information

Apostle is a miticide for use in a range of fruit crops and ornamental plants. As Apostle is absorbed into the leaf, best results are obtained when applied to young, actively growing plant tissue. Apostle is non-systemic, therefore thorough coverage and penetration of foliage is essential. On older leaves the absorption of Apostle is greatly reduced. Apostle is effective only on the feeding stages of mite and has no effect on the eggs. It is an offense to use this product on animals. Ingredients: Apostle contains 184g/L of abamectin as the active ingredient, and up to 430g/L of Isophorone and 10g/L of BHT.

Applications & Uses

Application Technique
Spillage

Extinguish any ignition sources. Exclude non-essential people from the area. Wear protective clothing and prevent material from entering waterways. Absorb spill with inert material such as soil, sand, etc, and place in a waste container. Wash area with water and detergent, and absorb with further inert material. Dispose of safely to a suitable landfill.

Directions For Use Rate of Application

The following rates expressed are for high volume spraying to point of run-off. For concentrated spraying, adjust dilution rate accordingly.

CROP INSECTS CONTROLLED RATE of USE CRITICAL COMMENTS
Ornamentals: Carnations, Chrysanthemums, Roses and indoor foliage plants. Two Spotted Mite 25 – 50mls in 100 liters water. Use a minimum of 750ml Apostle per ha Apply at first appearance of mite and then again 7 - 10 days later. Make no more than 3 applications per season. Do NOT apply to ferns or Shasta daisies. If unsure of crop safety, or tolerance is not known, apply to a few plants before spraying crop.
Strawberries Two Spotted Mite 100ml in 100 liters water. Use a minimum of 600ml Apostle per ha Apply at first appearance of mite once numbers exceed 3 - 5 mites per leaf, and then again 7 - 10 days later. Make no more than 3 applications per season.
Tomatoes -indoor Two Spotted Mite Tomato Russet Mite 60 - 90ml in 100 liters water. Use a minimum of 500 liters of water per ha and use the highest rate under high mite pressure or when Tomato Russet Mite is the main pest. Apply at first appearance of mite, and then again 7 - 10 days later. Make no more than 3 applications per season.
Kiwifruit Leafrollers 25ml in 100 liters water plus non-ionic surfactant at label rates. Use a minimum rate of 500ml/ha of Apostle Spray to the point of run-off (approximately 2000 liters/ha). First apply Apostle immediately after flowering followed by 2 further applications 14 days apart. Further applications if needed should be made at 3 week intervals.Do NOT tank mix or apply with any foliar nutrients.

CROP INSECTS CONTROLLED RATE of USE CRITICAL COMMENTS
Pipfruit: Apples and Pears Two Spotted Mite European Red Mite 37.5ml in 100 liters water plus non-ionic surfactant at label rates OR 500ml per 100 liters water all purpose spraying oil. Do NOT exceed a total dose of 1.5 liters/ha Apostle or 10 liters/ha all purpose spraying oil. Make only one application per season, between petal fall and mid December. CROP SAFETY: Do NOT use any all purpose spraying oil 21 days before or after an application of Captan. Use a non-ionic surfactant instead. Do NOT make applications with a non-ionic surfactant or any spray oils under (1) hot conditions, (2) poor or slow drying conditions or (3) with equipment which leaves a large droplet on fruit after application. CAUTION: Care should be taken when using Apostle and a non-ionic surfactant, or any other all purpose spraying oil on sensitive varieties of apples and pears. Damage may occur.
Avocados Six spotted mite 37.5ml in 100 liters water plus non-ionic surfactant at label rates OR 500ml per 100 liters water all purpose spraying oil. Apply in early spring at the first appearance of mites, and then again 14 – 28 days later. Make no more than 3 applications per season.
Potatoes Tomato/ Potato Psyllid 600ml/ha plus a suitable adjuvant Spray at the first sign of infestation. Ensure complete spray coverage and penetration into the crop. Poor coverage can result in poor efficacy. Apply a maximum of 4 sprays per season at weekly intervals as part of a complete control program.
