- General Information
Cutter is a selective pre-emergence herbicide for the control of annual grasses and many broadleaf
weeds in grain and silage maize and sweetcorn. Cutter also contains alpha-cypermethrin, a fast acting
pyrethroid insecticide with good residual effect.
Cutter should only be used in paddocks or localities where greasy cutworm is a recurring problem. In paddocks
or localities without a history of greasy cutworm, Cutter should not be used. In this situation, a pre-emergent
herbicide such as Ace or Sylon may be applied for weed control, with an application of insecticide such as
Cipher only in response to signs of seedling damage following regular scouting of the crop.
Cutter has been specifically formulated for New Zealand conditions of temperate allmate and Ngh
organic content soils. Cutter should not be used in climatic conditions characterized by long,
cold wet periods, or in soils of very low organic content, as crop damage may occur.
Weeds controlled: Commonly occurring annual grass weeds including; summer grass, barnyard
grass, bristle grass, green bristle grass, rough bristle grass, seedling Johnson grass, smooth witch
grass, witch grass. Broadleaf weeds include; amaranthus spp, black nightshade, chickweed, redroot,

GRAIN AND SILAGE MAIZE AND SWEETCORN
Rate and Timing of Application: 2.5-3.0 liters in at least 200 liters of water per hectare after planting
and before crop emergence. Use the higher rate in clay soils and those with higher organic matter. If
desired, Atrafilow (atrazine) mey be added to the tank me to Improve the spectrum of activity on weeds.- Mixing
To ensure mixing pour the correct amount nto the partly filled tank and add the remander of the water
while agitating. Agitate thoroughly before and during spraying and before spraying after a stoppage.- Soil Conditions/Rainfall
Best results will be obtained when applcadon is made to a freshly prepared, fine, molst soll, free of
trash, with at least 10 mm of rain within 1 week of application. Under drier soil conditions, 30 mm of
rah within 2-3 weeks is necessary. Application by pre plant hcorporation may be beneficial under
very dry conditions.- Soil Residues

GROUP 3 INSECTICIDE
GROUP K3 HERBICIDE
Cutter contains the synthetic pyrethroid insecticide alpha-cypermethrin and the chloroacetamide herbicide acetochlor. Resistance to these active ingredients and other pyrethroid insecticides or chloroacetamide or oxyacetamide herbicides could develop from excessive use. To minimize this risk, use strictly in accordance with label instructions and rotate use with insecticides and herbicides with a different mode of action. Consult http://resistance.nzpps.org/index.php for alternative modes of action and details of resistance management strategies (if any) for the insect pests and crops listed on this label.
