For the control of Mealybugs, Scales, Froggatt’s Apple Leafhopper and Whitefly on PIPFRUIT, GRAPES, GOLDEN QUEEN PEACHES, CITRUS, KIWIFRUIT, TAMARILLO, PERSIMMON and GLASSHOUSE CROPS
Active Ingredient: 440 g/liter buprofezin in the form of a suspension concentrate.

- General Information
Applaud 40SC is an insect growth regulator that primarily interferes with the molting of immature stages of mealybugs, scales and whitefly. It does not control adults. Pest populations therefore decrease with the passage of generations and results are seldom visible quickly. Applaud 40SC is effective against a few sucking insects only. It is safe to predator mites, bees and most parasites or predators of target pest insects such as Encarsia wasp parasite of whitefly. Applaud 40SC is compatible with Integrated Pest Management (IPM) and Integrated Fruit Production (IFP) programs. It is an offense to use this product on animals.

Exclude non-essential people from the area. Wear protective clothing and prevent material from entering waterways. Absorb spill with inert material such as soil, sand, etc, and place in a waste container. Wash area with water and detergent, and absorb with further inert material. Dispose of safely to a suitable landfill.
- Directions For Use Rates of Application
Mix Applaud 40SC at a rate of 30 mL / 100 L water. Note recommended water rates for crops
Crop Pest Critical Comments Citrus Scales Apply twice, 10 – 14 days apart, when scale is first apparent. Where populations persist, re-apply at an interval of not less than one month. Where season long spray programs are needed, alternate Applaud 40SC with other approved insecticides to prevent possible development of resistant scale. Apply not less than 2500 – 3000 L/ha spray mix. Golden Queen peaches Mealybugs Apply twice, 10 – 14 days apart, between bud movement and start of pink. On mature peaches, apply 3000 L/ha spray mix. Grapes Mealybugs Apply twice, 14 – 21 days apart, between bud movement and start of flowering. Bud movement applications should be mixed with 1% spraying oil. Apply not less than 1000 L/ha spray mix. Kiwifruit Armored Scales Apply between greentip and opening of the first female flowers. Where two applications of an insecticide are required over this period, use Applaud 40SC for only one application. Apply 2000 L/ha spray mix. Persimmon Mealybugs Apply twice, 10 – 14 days apart, between greentip and blossom. Apply not less than 2500 L/ha spray mix. Crop Pest Critical Comments Pipfruit Mealybugs, Scales, Froggatt’s Apple Leafhopper Apply twice, 10 – 14 days apart, between greentip and start of pink. On mature apples, apply 3000 L/ha spray mix. On mature pears, apply 5000 L/ha spray mix. Tamarillo Whitefly Apply between pruning and before fruit set. A later application, no closer than 28 days apart, should be made when the whitefly population exceeds 20 adults per leaf. Other insecticides should be tank mixed or alternated with Applaud 40SC to control adult whitefly. Apply not less than 1000 L/ha spray mix. Glasshouse Crops: Cucumbers, Eggplant, Melons, Peppers, Pepino, Tomatoes, Zucchini Ornamentals including Bouvardia, Gerbera, Poinsettia, Roses Whitefly Apply at first appearance of whitefly. If necessary, repeat at an application interval of not less than three weeks. Apply no more than two applications of Applaud 40ASC per crop or season. - Application Methods
Applaud® 40SC can be applied using normal or concentrate spraying equipment. Flush equipment thoroughly with clean water after use. High Volume: Apply as a wetting spray to point of run-off coverage. Concentrate: Increase concentration of Applaud 40SC in proportion to concentration, i.e., if water volume is halved, double the concentration of Applaud 40SC in the spray tank.
- Mixing
Fill the spray tank half full with water and start gentle agitation. Slowly pour the required quantity of Applaud 40SC into the spray tank. Maintain gentle agitation while adding the remaining water and until spraying is complete. Do not leave the spray mix in the sprayer overnight.
- Withholding Periods
It is an offense for users of this product to cause residues exceeding the relevant MRL in the Food Notice: Maximum Residue Levels for Agricultural Compounds.

GROUP 16 INSECTICIDE
Applaud 40SC contains the Group 16 insecticide buprofezin. Resistance to this insecticide could develop from excessive use. To minimize this risk, use strictly in accordance with label instructions. - Compatibility
May be tank mixed with most commonly used insecticides and fungicides. Do not mix with strongly alkaline materials such as Bordeaux mixture or lime sulfur.

- Precautions
STORAGE: Keep out of reach of children. Store in the original packaging in a secure place away from foods. Storage of certain quantities of this product trigger specific storage requirements (Refer to Safety Note). When stored appropriately this product should show no significant degradation for two years from the date of manufacture. Contact your supplier for further information about the use of product that is older than this. PERSONAL PROTECTION: Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Avoid inhalation of spray mist. When mixing or applying, wear overalls, boots, gloves, and eye protection. Clean protective clothing daily after work. Do not eat, drink or smoke while using. Remove protective clothing and wash hands and face thoroughly before meals and after work. USE: Apply with well maintained and calibrated spray equipment. DISPOSAL: Dispose of this product only by using in accordance with this label, or at a suitable landfill. Triple rinse container and add rinsate to the spray tank. Dispose of container to a suitable landfill or agricultural recycling scheme. Do not burn. Do not use container for any other purpose. ENVIRONMENTAL: Use this product carefully. Do not contaminate aquatic environments with product, spray drift or empty container. Do not allow spray drift outside the target area to occur
