Metox-BW85 can be used to cure unsaturated polyester resins (UPR), gelcoats and vinylester resins based on bisphenol A and novolak, in the presence of a cobalt accelerator or in the cobalt / amine system. The use of a second accelerator system shortens gelation and curing times. In the case of a standard ortho-aluminum resin, it has a longer gelation time compared to the standard Metox-50W initiator. Recommended for production where long times are required gelation and in the summer, when the use of standard MEKP causes too short times gelation. The use of standard MEKP-based initiators for UPR curing causes foaming. Hydrogen peroxide is responsible for this effect. In Metox-BW85 its content was lowered, which resulted in significant reduction in foaming.

Oxidizing agent, decomposes rapidly under the influence of heat and pollution mechanical or through contact with reducing agents. You never must mix the hardener with the accelerator.
