- Product Highlights
- Deuteron® UV RMP is a micronized wax compound de- signed as matting additive for UV curable inks and coat- ings. In UV curable systems (free radical polymerization) the addition of Deuteron® UV RMP leads to a controlled incompatibility during the curing process.
- The incompatibility between wax and resin is initiated by the crosslinking during the curing process and leads to a microscopic surface deformation of the resin. Films matted using Deuteron® UV RMP show an outstanding mechanical stability (no particle-based matting), high chemical resistance and pleasant feel.

- Application and Dosage Information
Deuteron® UV RMP is suitable for a wide range of applications including:
- Wood and joinery coatings
- Floor coatings
- Overprint varnishes
The use of Deuteron® UV RMP especially improves performance in:
- Matting
- Burnishing / Polishing resistance
- Smooth feel
- Chemical resistance
- Low impact on viscosity
Dosage
- 2.5 - 15 % (calculated on the complete formulation) – the needed addition level depends on the system reactivity, curing conditions and desired gloss level and should be tested individually.
Processing
- Deuteron® UV RMP can be incorporated using a common high-speed stirrer. In low viscous systems it might be necessary to use a high shear dispersing unit to properly disperse the material. Because of the non-polar character Deuteron® UV RMP can potentially stabilize foam in the system. It is recommended to disperse the material at a high viscosity step (i.e. into the resin) and try to prevent the incorporation of air during stirring.
