    Applications & Uses

    Applications

DakotaPURE™ is available in a wide range of particle size distributions & packaging options for use in a variety of industrial applications:

Plastics | Coatings | Sound Dampening | Rubber | Joint Compounds | Refractories

    In Coatings applications

DakotaPURE™ mica reduces chalking; prevents shrinkage of the paint film; provides a water barrier; reduces weathering; and brightens the tone of colored pigments.

    In Plastics

DakotaPURE™ mica, being a natural inorganic mineral and radiation resistant, is able to absorb up to 80% of incident ultra-violet radiation protecting plastics against degradation. It also reduces mold shrinkage and facilitates mold release.

    In Caulks & Sealants

DakotaPURE™ mica contributes to workability, a smoother finish, and resistance to shrinkage & cracking.
