Features & Benefits

Properties

PAT-ADD AF 14D is easy dispersible in aqueous systems and can incorporation by applying mild dispersion forces, as valid for let-down or post addition purposes during the paint manufacturing process.. PAT-ADD AF 14D is most suitable for use in mid to high PVC-dispersion paints, semi-gloss and flat paints as well as for use in pigment dispersions.

Benefits
  • Easy dispersible
  • Very effective defoamer, so requires only low dosages
  • Good shelf stability
  • Universal usage for dispersion paints and aqueous colorants

0.2-0.8%
Application

Easy dispersible grade. Dispersion of hydrophobes in a mineral oil compound, mainly for texture coating.

Dosage & Addition

The optimal amount of PAT-ADD AF 14D to be used is system related, but generally is between 0,2 and 0,8 % PAT-ADD AF 11, calculated on the total weight of paint formulation. Although the product is easy dispersible in water, effective mixing conditions are required; it is recommended to add part (1/3) of the required dosage prior to pigment dispersion and the remaining part during the let-down process. Improper mixing may result in insufficient defoaming action and may cause side effects such as effecting gloss or film appearance. The optimum concentration to be used depends on the individual requirements and conditions.
