PAT-ADD AF 16 is water-dispersible, requiring mild incorporation forces in order to be properly dispersed. PAT-ADD AF 16 is most suitable for use in mid PVC-dispersion paints, flat paints and pigment dispersions
- Benefits
- Most cost effective defoamer
- Easily dispersible
- Good shelf stability
- Universal usage for dispersion paints and aqueous colorants
Applications & Uses

- Ink & Toner Type
- Use Level
- 0.2-0.8%
- Application
For ease of dispersion, economics and accurate dosage. Dispersion of hydrophobes in a mineral oil compound.
- Dosage & Addition
The optimal amount of PAT-ADD AF 16 to be used is system related, but generally is between 0,2 and 0,8% PAT-ADD AF 16, calculated on the total weight of paint formulation. Like most low viscosity dispersions, the product may show some separation during storage and it is recommended to homogenize the product properly prior to its usage. PAT-ADD AF 16 needs only mild incorporation conditions; it is recommended to add part of the required dosage prior to pigment dispersion and the remaining half immediately after dispersion, straight to the mill-base or during let-down, using effective mixing. Improper mixing may result in insufficient defoaming action and may cause side effects such as effecting gloss or film appearance. The optimum concentration to be used depends on the individual requirements and conditions.
