- Product Highlights
- Strong dispersing properties for pigments such as iron oxides, hydrophilic carbon black, moderately hydrophilic organic pigments
- High pigment loadings, at low viscosity
- APEO Free
- Low VOC
- Optimizes color development
- Strong contribution to electrostatic pigment stabilization, as well as steric stabilization, minimizing tendency for flocculation in the liquid stage as well as during film formation of waterborne coating and printing systems
- Properties
Polymeric dispersant PAT-ADD DA 603LV shows strong dispersion activity with hydrophilic and moderately hydrophobic pigments and extenders, reducing mill base viscosity, improving color development, storage stability, and gloss. Although PAT-ADD DA 603LV is primarily designed for use in pigment concentrates, colorants, architectural as well as industrial waterborne paints, it is also useful in other waterborne systems; inks and adhesives.
Applications & Uses
- Applications
- Coating Type
- Dosage & Addition
The optimal amount of PAT-ADD DA 603LV is system related, but generally between 0.5 and 2.0%, on the total weight of coating or ink formulation. The dosage is related to the specific pigment’s surface area, with organic pigments and high surface carbon blacks at the higher side of the recommendation. The product is best added to the mill-base before the pigments. For use in pigment concentrates (PC) higher levels are suggested; 3 to 10% Pat-Add DA 603LV on total weight of the PC The optimum concentration to be used depends on the individual formulation and conditions and best determined with a ladder study..
- End Use Application
PAT-ADD DA 603 LV is designed for use in a pigment concentrates, colorants, architectural and industrial waterborne paints; it should also be considered for water borne ink formulations.
