PAT-ADD DA 801 is a polymeric dispersing agent showing strong adsorption properties onto a wide variety of pigment surfaces, contributing to best dispersion stability. PAT-ADD DA 801 is strongly adsorbed onto inorganic pigments and extenders, contributing to enhanced steric stabilization against re-flocculation.
- Benefits
- A universal dispersant
- Optimizes the milling process, enabling high pigment loading
- Provides excellent color development
- Solvent-free
- Strong prevention of pigment flocculation, floating, flooding, and pigment settling
- Wide range of compatibility, in solvent-borne, solvent-free as in most waterborne formulations
- For industrial, architectural paints, for printing inks and colorants
Applications & Uses
- Applications
- Ink & Toner Type
- Application
Multi-purpose pigment wetting agent and dispersant, for color pigments, in air-drying paints, RMPC and most industrial systems. Excellent wetting. Polyester, anionic.

Multi-purpose pigment wetting and dispersing agent, for color pigments, in most industrial systems. Excellent wetting. Polyester, anionic.
- Application
Multi-purpose pigment wetting agent and dispersant, for liquid and paste inks. Excellent wetting. Polyester, anionic.
- Dosage & Addition
The optimal amount of PAT-ADD DA 801 to be used is system related, but generally is between 0.4 and 1.5% PAT-ADD DA 801, calculated on the total weight of paint formulation. The product is added to the mill-base prior to the dispersion process. For use as dispersing agent in inks, a dosage between 0.7 and 3% on total weight of the ink, is typically required. For use in pigment concentrates and colorants higher levels are suggested, such as 3 to 10% PAT-ADD DA 801 on total weight of the pigment dispersion formula. The optimum concentration to be used depends on the individual requirements and conditions.
