PAT-ADD LE 1010 is a very efficient surface tension modifier, effective at very low concentrations. The product demonstrates excellent substrate wetting, thus avoiding the formation of craters, pinholes and poor substrate coverage of coatings applied onto critical substrates such as improperly cleaned substrates and low surface tension substrates. Moreover, PAT-ADD LE 1010 provides excellent surface smoothness, slip and mar resistance, counteracts pigment floating or foam formation. PAT-ADD LE 1010 is suitable for use in pigmented as well as clear coating systems.
- Benefits
- Most effective leveling agent
- Increases slip, mar resistance
- Wide range of compatibility
- Very limited foam stabilization
- Excellent compatibility, high transparency lacquers
- Reduces coefficient of friction (COF)
- Effective in NC, PUR, Acid Cured wood finishes, automotive refinishes, industrial paints and inks

- Application
Leveling, with slip and mar resistance. Contributes to orientation of the matting agents and metal pigment. Polyether modified polysiloxane, approximately 10% polysiloxane.
- Dosage & Addition
The optimal amount of PAT-ADD LE 1010 to be used is system and application related; in order to maintain proper recoatibility properties, excessive levels should be avoided. PATADD LE 1010 may be added to the formulation during any stage of paint production. Following dosages, calculated on the total weight of paint formulation, are recommended to ensure proper performance: -leveling: typically 0.05 to 0.3%. For wood-coatings usage levels up to 1% may be considered -slip, mar: 0.05 to 0.2% Mar resistance in UV-flexo ink: 0.2 to 1.0% on total weight of ink. It is strongly recommended to evaluate performance and compatibility empirically, applying close-to-practice test conditions. The optimum concentration to be used depends on the individual requirements and conditions.
