Features & Benefits
- Product Highlights
- Provides excellent flow and leveling
- Excellent shelf stability
- Reduces risk of roller spattering during application
- Supplied as liquid, ease to dose, handle, incorporate
- Hydrophobic nature, for excellent film scrub and water resistance
- Designed for high PVC systems to gloss emulsion paints and varnishes
- Properties
- PAT-ADD RHEOL 99 ensures optimal rheological behavior of dispersion paints. Associative interactions with polymer as well as micelles, are developed with Pat-Add Rheol 99 molecules to form a thixotropic structure and observed viscosity increase.
- The highest thickening efficiency is obtained in polymer dispersion systems (emulsion paints). Compared to classic rheology modifiers, such as cellulose ethers, a more Newtonian viscosity profile and greater high-shear thickening is obtained with PAT-ADD RHEOL 99; contributing brush-drag and improved flow and leveling. At rest, additional low-shear structure is formed, explaining the excellent anti-settling contribution of PAT-ADD RHEOL 99. The product is primarily used as the sole thickener in low to high PVC emulsion paints. However, the product has shown excellent compatibility with both organic as well as inorganic rheology modifiers.
Applications & Uses
- Applications
- Compatible Substrates & Surfaces
- Ink & Toner Type
- Dosage & Addition
- The optimal amount of PAT-ADD RHEOL 99 is system related, generally between 0.4 and 2.0% PAT-ADD RHEOL 99, on the total weight of paint formulation.
- The product is best added during the let-down stage; however, partial addition to the mill base can be considered. The optimum concentration used depends on the individual formulation and conditions and is recommended to be determined experimentally.
- End Use Application
PAT-ADD RHEOL 99 is recommended for any emulsion paints for interior and exterior applications based on pure acrylic or copolymer binders.
