It must be fresh water because the diatoms form a harder shell and is less fragile that those in salt water. Salt water deposits contain a mix of diatom species. These deposits shapes and sediments are inconsistent making them unusable for our products.

Perma-Guard Perma-Guard Crawling Insect Control is 100% diatomaceous earth. It does not contain fillers or baits. The crystalline silica content is less than one half of one percent.

Perma-Guard Grain or Seed Storage Insecticide D-10 is coated, can protect the grain for as long as needed. Instead of retreating grain every six months as the chemical people do, Perma-Guard Grain Protectant need be added only once, regardless of how long the storage lasts. When the grain is ready to be ground it is not necessary to remove Perma-Guard Grain or Seed Storage Insecticide. It makes no difference in taste or in cooking quality.
