Rid-O-Foam® 4050 is particularly effective for bubble-release in high solids polyurethanes and contributes to flow and leveling for brush and roller applications.. Rid-O-Foam® 4050 also helps eliminate surface defects such as craters. Based on customer tests in normal use situations, including automotive applications, Rid-O-Foam® 4050 is found not to affect intercoat adhesion.
- Recommended Use Levels
Normal level of addition for Rid-O-Foam® 4050 is 0.1% to 0.3% based on the weight of the polyol component. A smaller quantity may suffice for relatively low-solids systems whereas in low VOC finishes a greater quantity of Rid-O-Foam® 4050 will be required. Use the higher level of addition for thicker film applications as well.

Rid-O-Foam® 4050 is a high performance air-release agent for one and two-package polyurethanes, both primers and finishes, in clears as well as pigmented systems. Rid-O-Foam® 4050 can be used with polyester, polyether, polyacrylate and other hydroxylated polyols.
