Recommended Applications

Teraflow® 1000, through its well-balanced surface-active capability, provides smoother films, allowing the application of thinner coatings, and contributes to substrate wetting and recoat adhesion. Together with its novel pigment-affinic functionality, the product also allows the formulator to optimize the dispersion of almost all pigments and extenders, including such difficult-to-disperse pigments as phthalo blue, phthalo green and carbon black, in a wide variety of thermoset and thermoplastic resin systems. Teraflow® 1000 is soluble in ketones such as MEK and MIBK, higher molecular weight alcohols such as npropanol and isopropanol, aromatics such as toluene and xylene, and various acetates such as ethyl and butyl acetate.

Recommended Use Levels

Teraflow® 1000 should be added to the mill base in the range of 0.1% to 2.0% by total weight of resin solids. The product can also be incorporated in the let-down portion. The formulator should determine experimentally the appropriate amount of Teraflow® 1000 to use in each particular system and its effect on the properties and performance of the final formulation.
