Technical Details & Test Data

Compatibility

Terasperse® 2644 was developed as a highly versatile and efficient low-foaming acrylic dispersant for both flat and gloss latex paints. Used in small concentrations, Terasperse® 2644 provides a stable, uniform grind at a minimum mill base viscosity without the use of additional wetting agents or dispersants.

Terasperse® 2644 is compatible with ethylene glycol and propylene glycol and can be used in water-free, glycol-based grinds. The product demonstrates excellent gloss retention, both before and after heat aging, with both acrylics and vinyl-acrylics.

Terasperse® 2644 is compatible with reactive pigments such as zinc oxide and can be used as the sole dispersant. Such systems demonstrate excellent stability in terms of viscosity and grind.

Because Terasperse® 2644 is normally used at relatively low levels, foaming is minimized, secondary dispersants are not required and water resistance of the dry film is not affected.
