Rosemary consists of the dried leaf of Rosmarinus officinalis L. (Fam. Lamiaceae). It contains not less than 2.0% of phenolic diterpenes, calculated as the sum of carnosic acid and carnosol, and not less than 1.2% (v/w) of volatile oil, both calculated on the dried basis.
