Chamomile consists of the dried flower heads of Matricaria recutita L. (Matricaria chamomilla L., Matricaria chamomilla L. var. courrantiana, Chamomilla recutita L.) Rauschert (Fam. Asteraceae alt. Compositae). It contains not less than 0.4% of blue volatile oil, not less than 0.3% of apigenin-7-glucoside, and not less than 0.15% of bisabolol derivatives, calculated as levomenol.
