AffronEYE® main mechanisms of action:
- Antioxidant: AffronEYE® may induce a reduction in intraocular pressure due to its antioxidant properties*. Oxidative stress negatively affect ocular health.
- Antiapoptotic: AffronEYE® may increase the oxygen available to the photoreceptors, which promotes visual acuity*. Exposure to continuous bright light and environmental stress causes death of photoreceptors in the eye.

Crocins metabolites present in affronEYE® reach the maximum concentration in blood after only 1.5 hours, which is faster than other traditional carotenoids used for eye health, such as lutein (7 - 8h), zeaxanthin (13 - 14h) and ß-carotene (24 - 30h).
