Resistance Management

NOMINEE 100 SC is a group code B herbicide. Any weed population may contain plants naturally resistant to NOMINEE 100SC and other group code B herbicides. The resistant plants can eventually dominate the plant population if these herbicides are used repeatedly. These resistant plants may not be controlled by NOMINEE 100 SC or any other group code B herbicides.

To delay the onset of resistance

Prevent the repeated and exclusive use of herbicides with the same herbicide group code. Alternate with, or tank mix with products with a different herbicide group code.

Integrate alternative control strategies, ( chemical, biological , cultural ) in herbicidal programs.

Use Restrictions

General

  • Do not apply through any type of irrigation system.
  • Do not apply by air.
  • Do not apply to golf greens
  • Do not apply if rain is expected within 12 hours of application
  • Only apply if the turf as well as the winter grass is growing actively.   Failing to so such as applications in the winter, may result in injury to the turf.
  • Do not apply to turfgrass that is under any stress due to drought, water logging, temperature below 20°C and higher than 25ºC, disease, mechanical injury or any other stress condition.
  • Do not apply NOMINEE 100 SC to poorly drained soils or soils with a compaction layer. Water logging in the presence of herbicides will cause stand reduction and / or stunted growth.
  • Do not mow or irrigate turfgrass within 12 hours of application.
  • Do not mix with any other herbicides, fungicides, pesticides, adjuvants or fertilizers.
  • Do not exceed the dosage, as damage to the turf may occur.
  • Following a single application of NOMINEE 100 SC, wait 10 days before re-seeding or sprigging.
  • After reseeding or sprigging, wait at least 30 days after the germination of the seed before an application of NOMINEE 100 SC is done.
  • The application of lime to soils onto which NOMINEE 100 SC was applied, may lead to desorption of the herbicide molecules from the soil particles. This may increase the possibility of crop damage.
  • Prevent the overlapping of spraying swaths, as this will result in doubling of the dosage rate.  This may cause phytotoxicity.
Directions For Use

Use only as directed.

Mixing And Equipment Instructions
  • Thoroughly clean the application equipment in the manner prescribed by the manufacturer of the product applied before the NOMINEE 100 SC application.
  • Half full the spraytank with the amount of water required.
  • Add the correct amount of NOMINEE 100 SC to the tank, while adding the remainder of the water.
  • Ensure thorough agitation while mixing.
  • Ensure agitation is maintained during the application.
Cleaning Of The Application Equipment
  • Remove all physical residues from the tank.
  • Thoroughly drain and rinse tank, hoses and booms with clean water.
  • Half fill the tank with clean water and use a tank cleaner that does not contain chlorine.
  • Fill the remainder of the tank with clean water and continue agitation whilst flushing the boom and hoses.
  • Half fill the tank with clean water and add 1ℓ / 100ℓ of water of 3% active ammonia. Fill the remainder of the tank with water and agitate for 15 minutes.   Flush the solution through the boom, hoses and nozzles before draining the tank. Repeat this process again.
  • Thoroughly rinse the tank, hoses, boom and nozzle with clean water.

REMARKS

Turf Bentgrass (Agrostis palustris)

Rapid conversion to bent grass:

In a situation where less than 15 % of the area is infested with Poa annua, and a rapid removal of the winter grass will not result in an unacceptable stand of bent grass.

1,0ℓ

Apply with 28 day intervals, in at least 250 liters of water / ha.

Discoloration (yellowing) of the turf may occur within 3 –

7 days following the application, but will disappear within 10 – 14 days.

After 3 – 4 applications, the Poa annua will be significantly reduced, and because the initial coverage of Poa annua was less than 15 %, the removal of the weed will not result in an unacceptable stand of desirable turf grass.

Slow conversion to bent grass

In a situation where more than 15% of the area is infested with Poa annua, and a rapid removal of the winter grass may result in an unacceptable stand of bent grass.

300 – 500mℓ

Apply with 14 - 21 day intervals in at least 250 liters of water / ha.

Discoloration of the turf may occur but will disappear within 10 – 14 days of the application.

After 5 – 6 applications the Poa annua will be significantly reduced and this slow conversion to bent grass will not result in an unacceptable stand of desirable turf grass.

Do not apply to Kikuyu grass, as this may cause phytotoxicity of the Kikuyu grass.

Please refer to use restriction before application.
