Application Directions

. To obtain the best results, SITOFEX should be applied under slow drying conditions, such as early morning, late in the afternoon or at night. This will ensure sufficient uptake of the product

  1. Do not apply SITOFEX if the plants are under stress conditions. This may negatively effect the efficacy of the product.
  2. The use of adjuvants with SITOFEX is not recommended. When used in a tank mixture with gibberillic acid, the dosage rate for the adjuvants recommended for use with the gibberellic acid should not be exceeded.
  3. Apply as a directed spray to the young fruit or bunches. Complete coverage of the fruit is essential. With table grapes a dip treatment of the bunches can also be used.

Grapes:

  • Do not apply SITOFEX 10EC to grapes before post bloom berry shatter has been completed.
  • Ensure thorough wetting of grape vines and apply at a volume of between 1000 and 1500l water per hectare on established vines. With table grapes a dip treatment of the bunches can also be used.
  • Use proportionally less on younger vines.

Kiwifruit:

  • On kiwifruit, apply either by handgun or by knapsack sprayer at a volume of between 800 and
1000l water per hectare on fully established vines. Use proportionally less on younger vines.
  • The use of SITOFEX 10EC on kiwifruit is not recommended for use in the Natal region. Use effective fruitfly control measures since SITOFEX 10EC treated fruit could be more susceptible to attacks by fruitfly.

Wash contaminated clothing daily. Wash immediately with sufficient water after accidental skin and eye contact. Do not eat, drink or smoke whilst mixing, applying or before washing hands and face and change of clothing. Avoid spray drift onto other crops, grazing, rivers, dams and any other area not under treatment. Prevent contamination of food, feeds, drinking water and eating utensils.

Thoroughly wash and rinse spray equipment after use and dispose of wash water where it will not contaminate crops, grazing, rivers and dams.

IMPORTANT: Invert the empty container over the spray or mixing tank and allow to drain for at least 30 seconds after the flow has slowed down to a drip. Add the rinsings to the contents of the spray tank before destroying the container in the prescribed manner. Destroy empty container by perforation and flattening and never use for any other purpose.
