- New Clinical Trial Confirms Improved Respiratory Function in Healthy Subjects
AlvioLife® has been the subject of two human clinical trials measuring respiratory function. In a 2021, six-week RCT, healthy subjects who had reported a sensitivity to air pollution took either 200 mg/day of AlvioLife, 200 mg/day AlvioLife + 200 mg/day licorice extract, or a matching placebo. Subjects taking AlvioLife had improvements from baseline measures, and compared to placebo for lung function, lung capacity, and aerobic exercise capacity.
In addition to these results, the study showed reductions in reported upper respiratory tract symptoms (Wisconsin Upper Respiratory Symptom Scale) and improvement in psychological well-being. Improvements in immune (CD4+) and inflammation (IL-8) biomarkers were also shown.
Subjects taking AlvioLife had greater improvements in functional respiratory outcomes.
Subjects taking AlvioLife had reductions in upper respiratory symptoms AND improvements in general well-being.
