- Applications
- Increase relative viscosity (RV) and Molecular Weight of reprocessed polyamides.
- Facilitates upgradation of nylon fishing net and tire cord scrap for molding and extrusion applications.
- Processing Conditions
- OPTIPET™ 214P is a fine powder.
- It should be preferably fed into the extruder through a separate feeder.
- The chain extension reaction occurs at temperature around 230°C to 260°C, which is normal for most nylon processing.
- Residence time of 1-2 minutes in the extruder is desirable.
- Dosage depends on quality of the starting material, and the target properties after modification.
- Maximum processing temperature should not exceed 320°C.
