PUREsorb 292 is a liquid hindered amine light stabilizer developed especially for coatings. The almost pure mixture of Bis (1, 2, 2, 6, 6-pentamethyl-4-piperidyl) sebacate and Methyl 1,2,2,6,6-pentamethyl-4-piperidyl sebacate keeps the product liquid even at room temperature. The efficiency of PUREsorb 292 provides significantly extended lifetime to coatings by minimizing paint defects such as loss of gloss and cracking.

Product Applications

PUREsorb 292 is recommended for applications in coatings such as automotive (non-acid catalyzed), industrial, radiation curable (with no loss of cure speed) and wood stains. Efficiency of PUREsorb 292 has been demonstrated in coatings based on a variety of binders such as thermoplastic acrylics, construction adhesives and sealants, thermoplastic acrylics, thermosetting acrylics, alkyd and polyesters, waterborne acrylics, phenolics, vinylics, exterior construction coatings, construction sealants and adhesives.

Performance of PUREsorb 292 can be further improved when used in combination with other UV absorbers. These combinations give coatings superior protection against blistering, color change, cracking, delamination and gloss reduction. The amount of PUREsorb 292 required for optimum performance should be determined in trials covering a concentration range.
