APP 102 is ideally suited for intumescent coatings and polyurethane foams where ammonium polyphosphates have traditionally been employed. For intumescent coatings, it is particularly suitable as an “acid donor”, because of its low water solubility. For polyurethane foams, it is used as a halogen-free flame retardant for PU rigid foams, PU rigid integral foams and PU/Polyester flexible foams.
