"The company proudly looks back on more than 120 years of tradition in rubber production. In the meantime, Polymer-Technik Elbe GmbH has developed into one of the leading international manufacturers of rubber compounds. The success story began in 1898 with the founding of Gummiwerk Elbe AG in Wittenberg. In 1972 the central mixed operation was built, the core of today's company. Following this tradition, Polymer-Technik Elbe GmbH started its business activities as a custom compounder on January 1, 1993 and has continued to do so purposefully and successfully ever since. With the founding of SILCOMP Silicone Compounding GmbH in 2004 and the acquisition of the silicone business of Safic Alcan SAS in France in 2005, PTE is also active in the manufacture of silicone compounds. In 2007, the internationalization of PTE continued with the construction and commissioning of the Wuxi Elbe Polymer Technology Co., Ltd. continued in China. Between 2011 and 2018, the production capacities at the headquarters in Lutherstadt Wittenberg were continuously expanded by three additional production lines in order to meet the increasing inquiries and increasing demands. In 2016, PTE supplemented its global activities with the founding of PTE Compounding de Mexico SA de CV and since then has been serving international and local customers, including in America. In 2018, Polymer-Technik Elbe GmbH celebrated its 25th company anniversary. At the same time, a new line with a discharge extruder was installed and put into operation. This modern technology enables high-efficiency production of large quantities."
