- Drain machine of old coolant. (wetvac works well)
- Remove all solid material (fines, chips, sludge) from sump sides and bottom. If these are not removed, they can breed harmful microorganisms that will lessen your coolant’s life.
- Add POWR SUMP CLEANER at 3-5% by volume or 1½ - 2½ gallons per 50 gallons of water depending on machine condition, and circulate for 1-3 hours. Add water first and then add cleaner. Expose cleaner to all machine surfaces. Sumps with rancid coolant or a history of short sump life require an addition of KATHON™ CC directly in cleaner solution.
- Drain POWR SUMP CLEANER and eliminate any soils from sump.
- Charge sump with fresh water and rinse all machine surfaces for 20 minutes. Drain rinse water.
- Repeat Step 5 to make sure you remove any remaining POWR SUMP CLEANER.
- Charge machine immediately with appropriate POWR-CUT coolant. It is best to premix your coolant and then add to the sump. Always be sure to add coolant to water.
