Bayberry Wax, sometimes known as Myrtle Wax, is a vegetable wax derived from the bayberry fruit. It is among the most hard to find of vegetable waxes, but has a long history in the use of making natural tapered candles. Cosmetic formulators and personal care artisans however, are discovering its use as a vegan substitute for Beeswax (Beeswax cannot be used by those who are vegan). We recommend that you test your formulations as you may need more or less Bayberry Wax to achieve the same texture as when using beeswax. Praan Naturals Bayberry Wax is sold in convenient pellets. Pellets allow for easy measuring and consistent melting. The color of Babyberry Wax can vary from lot to lot, but it is typically sage to olive green in color. The wax possesses a sweet, rich and distinctive aroma.

Praan Naturals Aloe Vera Inner Leaf Gel 1:1 Decolorized is processed and made in the USA by a processor that has received certification from the International Aloe Science Council (IASC). Pure Aloe Vera Gel is known for its ability to soothe, moisturize and protect the skin and hair. It is obtained from the inner filets of fresh, premium quality aloe vera leaves. It is processed to remove the pulp and fiber. The resulting gel is then decolorized, pasteurized, and preserved to give it a stable shelf life. Praan Naturals Hops Total CO2 Extract is produced from the cones of Humulus lupus, more commonly known as hops. Hops are most well known for their use in flavoring beer. Hops Total CO2 Extract contains both the volatile and non-volatile CO2 soluble components of hops. CO2 Totals are CO2 Supercritical Extracts that have been extracted at higher pressure than those classified as CO2 Selects. CO2 Totals are believed to most closely represent the natural plant as compared to essential oils and CO2 Selects. Aromatically, Praan Naturals Hops Total CO2 Extract possesses a complex, fresh, green, bittersweet herbal aroma. It is yellowish-brown in color and is semi-soft at room temperature. It contains 38-58% humulones (alpha acids) and 16-30% lupulones (beta acids). Hops Total CO2 Extract is used in perfumery/fragrancing applications, and it is used at low dilutions in deodorants and deodorizing formulations. It is considered to be calming and may help promote sleep.

Pink Grapefruit Essential Oil, Citrus paradisi, is aromatically sweeter than White Grapefruit Oil. It is cold pressed from the peels of pink grapefruits and possesses a fresh, clean, uplifting aroma. The aroma is slightly tart while also being pleasant and sweet and is generally well favored even by those that don't enjoy consuming the fresh fruit itself. Within holistic aromatherapy applications, Pink Grapefruit Essential Oil has been used to uplift the spirits and relieve stress. Within skin and hair care applications, it offers astringent properties that help to balance oily skin and hair. It is a useful addition to facial toners. Praan Naturals Candelilla Wax is a hard, brittle, vegetable wax supplied in pellet form. Candelilla wax is the exudate found on the leaves of a small shrub native to Mexico and the southwest. It can be used as a substitute for beeswax or carnauba wax. It is softer than carnauba wax and is often used to make candles. Candelilla wax in commonly used in lip products, stick formulations, body butters, creams, lotions, hair pomades and other products requiring stiffness. Candelilla Wax ranges in color from light yellow to light brown. Our current lot of Candelilla Wax Pellets is light brown and is darker than our previous lot. Pellet size ranges between approximately 1/8 Inch to 1/4 Inch in Diameter.

Brazil Nut Oil is pressed from the nuts of the Bertholletia excelsa tree, also known as the Brazil nut tree. The tree is one of the largest in the Amazonian region, extending upwards to 50 meters in height. Inside the hard, wood-like outer casing of the fruit is an average of 10 to 21 Brazil nuts, arranged like the segments of an orange. Brazil nuts consist of approximately 67% oil, which Brazilian natives utilize in cooking and within skin and hair care applications. Praan Naturals Fractionated Coconut Oil is palm-free. Fractionated Coconut Oil is a light, fluid and stable lipid. It consists primarily of Caprylic and Capric acids, two important medium-chain triglycerides that are naturally present in coconut oil and that are fluid at room temperature. Fractionated Coconut Oil is produced through the distillation and fractionation of virgin coconut oil to isolate the Caprylic and Capric acids as they are both fluid at room temperature. A small percentage of unsaturated fatty acids, including linoleic acid, an omega-6 essential fatty acid and oleic acid, an omega-9 fatty acid, may also be present in the oil. Fractionated Coconut Oil is sometimes mistakenly referred to as MCT Oil. While both Fractionated Coconut Oil and MCT Oil share some similarities, it is important to recognize that MCT Oil is actually an ester, not an oil. Fractionated Coconut Oil is produced differently and possesses a somewhat different usage profile than products typically known as MCT Oil.
