Praan Naturals Cocoa Select CO2 Extract is produced by CO2 supercritical extraction of cocoa beans, Theobroma cacao, resulting in a beautifully aromatic, nutritive extract. Although Praan Naturals Cocoa Select CO2 Extract is best classified as a CO2 Select, it is rich in saturated fatty acids and possesses a thicker consistency similar to CO2 Totals that are abundant in fatty acids. Cocoa Select CO2 Extract is solid at room temperature and is tan/caramel in color. It melts easily with gentle warming to 105 degrees Fahrenheit (40 degrees Celsius).

Praan Naturals Chamomile Flower Total CO2 Extract is produced from Chamomilla Recutita and is also known as German Chamomile. It contains both the volatile and non-volatile CO2 soluble components of Chamomilla recutita (synonymous with Matricaria recutita). CO2 Totals are CO2 Supercritical Extracts that have been extracted at higher pressure than those classified as CO2 Selects. CO2 Totals are the closest representation of the natural plant ever achieved. Aromatically, Praan Naturals Chamomile Flower Total CO2 Extract possesses a pleasant, fruity, floral chamomile aroma that is similar in aroma to that of the original botanical. It is much fresher, sweeter and pleasant in aroma than most steam distilled German chamomile essential oils. If you tend to prefer the aroma of English and Roman chamomile essential oils to that of German chamomile oils, then there is an excellent chance that you will be very pleased with the aroma of our Chamomile Flower Total CO2 Extract. Chamomile Flower Total CO2 Extract is especially soothing, calming and supportive for dry, mature, damaged and problem skin types. Due to its Matricin content, it is also highly anti-inflammatory. Praan Naturals Chamomile Flower Total CO2 Extract is similar in color, aroma and composition to that of our Organic German Chamomile Total CO2 Extract. Chamomile Flower Total CO2 Extract is a deep golden green. It consists of 7-17% essential oil. In addition to its essential oil content, it contains the heavier waxes, fatty acids, resins, color compounds and other non-volatile compounds. Present within the extract is 20-45% of Bisabolol (Sesquiterpenol), 5-20% Bisabolol Oxide (Oxide) and 1-3% Matricin (Sesquiterpene). Matricin, a sesquiterpene that is present within the CO2 extract but not the steam distilled oil, is reported to offer superior anti-inflammatory action to that of Chamazulene. Because Matricin is considered to be more effective than Chamazulene, less CO2 is often needed to achieve the same results and efficacy in comparison to working with the steam distilled essential oil. Chamomile Flower Total CO2 Extract is thick at room temperature and should be gently warmed before incorporating it into blends and formulations. It is soluble in essential oils and vegetable oils.

It contains both the volatile and non-volatile CO2 soluble components of this wonderfully aromatic bark. CO2 Totals are CO2 Supercritical Extracts that have been extracted at higher pressure than those classified as CO2 Selects. CO2 Totals are the closest representation of the natural plant ever achieved. Aromatically, Praan Naturals Cinnamon Bark Burmannii Total CO2 Extract possesses a beautiful, spicy aroma that is characteristic to cinnamon but is sweeter. It conveys a fresher, sweeter aroma than most steam distilled cinnamon bark essential oils. Its desirable aroma and lower cost as compared to CO2 extracts produced from Cinnamomum zeylanicum make it a beautiful alternative. Cinnamon Bark Burmannii Total CO2 Extract blends well with oils in the citrus, floral, spice, woods and resin categories, and it blends especially well with clove, ylang ylang, rose, frankincense, geranium and patchouli. The aroma of cinnamon is a favorite aroma of all genders and ages. The aroma is quite concentrated, and a little goes a long way. Although spice oils are warming and are most commonly used during the Autumn and Winter seasons, the oil is lovely to use at any time of year. As a warming oil, it is a wonderful addition to massage oil blends. However, it is highly sensitizing and great care must be used when using it topically. Cinnamon Bark Burmannii Total CO2 Extract is a slightly thick, golden brown extract. In addition to its essential oil content, it contains the heavier waxes, fatty acids, resins, color compounds and other non-volatile compounds. For topical formulations intended for adults, Essential Oil Safety Edition 2 by Robert Tisserand and Rodney Young recommend a dermal maximum of 0.07% for Cinnamon Bark Essential Oil. The extract may be phototoxic due to its coumarin content. We suggest using a lower ratio when incorporating Cinnamon Bark Burmannii Total CO2 Extract in topical applications.

Praan Naturals Hops Total CO2 Extract is produced from the cones of Humulus lupus, more commonly known as hops. Hops are most well known for their use in flavoring beer. Hops Total CO2 Extract contains both the volatile and non-volatile CO2 soluble components of hops. CO2 Totals are CO2 Supercritical Extracts that have been extracted at higher pressure than those classified as CO2 Selects. CO2 Totals are believed to most closely represent the natural plant as compared to essential oils and CO2 Selects. Aromatically, Praan Naturals Hops Total CO2 Extract possesses a complex, fresh, green, bittersweet herbal aroma. It is yellowish-brown in color and is semi-soft at room temperature. It contains 38-58% humulones (alpha acids) and 16-30% lupulones (beta acids). Hops Total CO2 Extract is used in perfumery/fragrancing applications, and it is used at low dilutions in deodorants and deodorizing formulations. It is considered to be calming and may help promote sleep.
