Precision Polymer

Perfluoroelastomer (FFKM) is the most chemically resistant elastomer available and is effectively a rubber form of PTFE. Perlast® perfluoroelastomer grades provide other properties which prove most valuable in critical sealing applications where purity, high temperatures and retention of sealing force are paramount.

The Perlast® range of perfluoroelastomer materials are at the leading edge of polymer technology. They have been developed to offer superior sealing solutions with enhanced performance and improved functionality, which is proven in the field (see case studies).

Perlast

A unique range of fully organic elastomers ideally suited to thermal, dynamic and specific plasma processes where radical concentrations are generally lower or where inorganic filler systems are undesirable.

The Kimura® range of high performance elastomer materials utilize a controlled molecular architecture which provides a unique self-reinforcing polymer structure, providing improved chemical resistance without the use of inorganic fillers of any kind. This high purity material breaks new ground in elastomer technology, developed specifically for aggressive chlorine and CxFy based semiconductor applications.

Kimura® elastomers span the range of fluoro and perfluoro (FKM and FFKM) materials and includes unique hybrid elastomers, specifically developed by PPE, for the semiconductor industry, to offer a step-change in sealing performance, surpassing what has previously been achievable for fully organic materials.

The high purity of the polymer combined with the absence of inorganic fillers makes Kimura® materials suitable for processes involving lower feature sizes.

Kimura

A range of metal detectable and X-ray detectable elastomer compounds designed specifically to meet the stringent demands of the pharmaceutical and food processing industries.

The Detectaseal® range includes FDA compliant grades of EPDM, Nitrile, Silicone and Fluorocarbon (FKM) compounds, plus USP Class VI certification for Silicone.  All materials in the Detectaseal® range are free from animal derived ingredients (ADI-free) and conform to EU regulations EC1935/2004 and EC2023/2006.

Available in blue and black, Detectaseal® O-rings have been tested and proven in use at leading pharmaceutical and food manufacturing plants. Fragments of Detectaseal® as small as 2mm can be identified by x-ray and in-line metal detection equipment in process lines.

Nanofluor® elastomers can be considered as hybrid materials, bridging a gap between the low cost of fluoroelastomer (FKM) and high cost of perfluoroelastomer (FFKM) polymer types.

The range includes a fully organic ultra-low outgassing material and an inorganic filled grade with unique nano-filler to reduce erosion rates. The nano-filled material provides a chemical inertness only seen in much more costly FFKM grades and been developed for plasma ash or resist strip, chlorine and CxFy based etch processes.

Nanofluor® grades provide some of the lowest trace metal contamination levels available from elastomer seals and ultra-low permeation rates.

N73B is a Copolymer of acrylonitrile and butadiene with a medium ACN content of 30 - 45%.NBR materials typically provide excellent resistance to petroleum-based oils, fuels and greases, as well as, very low gas permeability, ozone resistance, plus exceptional heat aging and mechanical properties.N73B is accepted by the UK Ministry of Defense (MOD) to Defense Standard 02-337 part 1, issue 1 (NES 337) for use on naval ships and submarines. Material code MN70.Available in any sized O-ring (fully molded up to 2.5m/8ft internal diameter) and custom designed components.Key Attributes Excellent resistance to aliphatic hydrocarbon oils, fuels and greases. A translucent beige compound with semi-crystalline perfluoropolymer nano-filler, specially developed to meet the demands of the semiconductor and bio-analytical industries. Compatible with fluorine based chemistries and universally suitable for both wet and dry semiconductor processes including Lithography, Plasma, PVD, CVD, Etch, Stripping and Cleaning.Perlast® G74P combines a fully fluorinated polymer backbone, a fully fluorinated nano-filler system (no inorganic fillers) and a highly fluorinated cross-linking process, which results in a perfluoroelastomer with unrivaled purity, chemical resistance and mechanical properties.Perlast® G74P exhibits extremely low out-gassing properties, making it ideal for use in vacuum applications.Key Attributes Exceptionally pure - does not contain any inorganic fillers which may cause particulation problems. Perlast® G74P

Perlast® G67P

Z85L is a peroxide-cured, HNBR compound specially developed for service in low temperature applications.The high mechanical strength of Z85L provides excellent wear and abrasion resistant properties when used in dynamic applications.Its broad chemical resistance makes Z85L ideal for use with sour gas (H2S), crude oil, carbon dioxide and operating fluids including lubricators, drilling mud, oil additives and amine corrosion inhibitors.Key Attributes Good explosive decompression resistance Outstanding low temperature performance Excellent chemical resistance Superior H2S resistance compared with standard HNBR High mechanical strength Typical Applications Low temperature and high pressure environments Exploration and drilling equipment Cementing and completion equipment Subsea valves and pumps

Precision Polymer™ Z85L

V71C is a Terpolymer FKM material developed to offer increased efficiency and service life in low temperature applications.V71C extends the operational performance of FKM seals by a full 15°C lower than is possible with well established low temperature FKM grades. It sets a new industry benchmark in low temperature performance.V71C exhibits the same chemical and mechanical properties as B-type and G-type FKM grades.Available in any sized O-ring (fully molded up to 2m/6.5ft internal diameter) and custom designed components.Key Attributes With a glass transition of -40°C (-40°F), V71C offers the widest operating temperature range of -51°C to +225°C Low compression set giving excellent seal performance Good elongation properties making fitting easier even at low temperature Excellent resistance to petroleum, oil, silicone and di-ester liquids Typical Applications Valves and pumps in cold (Arctic) operating environments Mechanical seals Flow meters &amp; sensors Seal applications that are exposed to cold situations or high temperature variations.

Precision Polymer™ V71C

Description Perlast® G70H provides optimal performance in high-temperature, chemically and mechanically demanding environments. This highly reinforced material offers extended seal life, offering low plasma etch rates in flat panel and thin-film solar CVD processes and the high mechanical strength needed to cope with the high forces repeatedly applied in these large scale applications.Perlast® G70H is available as fully molded O-rings (any size up to 2m/6.5ft internal diameter) and fully molded formed slit valve door seals up to 3m in length for generation 10 and above.Key Attributes Excellent plasma resistance High temperature performance High mechanical strength High abrasion resistance Extremely low out-gassing properties Typical Applications Slit valve door seals ISO valve seals Load lock seals NW / KF / ISO O-rings

Perlast® G70H

Perlast® G80A uses a unique molecular cross-linking technology to offer the broadest range of chemical resistance of any FFKM with the ability to operate up to a maximum temperature of 260°C (500°F).An extremely versatile material, Perlast® G80A is suitable for 90% of sealing applications encountered in the chemical processing and refining industries, providing excellent resistance to highly aggressive acids, amines, chlorine and solvent-based chemistries.

Perlast® G76W is an ivory colored perfluoroelastomer developed as a cost effective material for use in demanding applications within the industrial, analytical and automotive sectors.Perlast® G76W incorporates a reinforcing filler system which delivers outstanding chemical resistance against a wide range of chemicals and solvents typically used in paint spray, chromatography, mass spectroscopy, detergent dispensers, printing and industrial applications.Perlast® G76W provides excellent sealing performance in cost sensitive applications and its superior chemical resistance is complimented by exceptionally low compression set, high elongation and high tensile strength, ensuring maximum sealing efficiency. Description Perlast® G75TX is the ultimate ‘next generation' perfluoroelastomer, offering a combination of excellent chemical resistance and ultra-high temperature stability, simultaneously extending the operating limits in all aspects.Perlast® G75TX has been formulated to provide increased resistance to a broad range of chemicals by carefully controlling the molecular architecture.
