Acephate 90 Prill Select™ is a water-dispersible, prill formulated insecticide labeled for consistent and economical control of certain pests including ants, aphids, earwigs, sowbugs, thrips, wasps and whitefly. Acephate 90 Prill Select™ works both as a contact insecticide, then as it penetrates plant tissues it controls insects systemically. Can be used on turf, trees, container grown nursery stock and ornamentals and as a mound treatment for fire ants in turf grass areas.

    Applications & Uses

    User Safety Recommendations

    Users should:

    • Wash hands before eating, drinking, chewing gum, using tobacco, or using the toilet.
    • Remove clothing immediately if pesticide gets inside. Then wash thoroughly and put on clean clothing.
    • Remove PPE immediately after handling this product. Wash the outside of gloves before removing. As soon as possible, wash thoroughly and change into clean clothing.
    Directions For Use
    • It is a violation of Federal law to use this product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling. Do not apply this product in a way that will contact workers or other persons, either directly or through drift. Only protected handlers may be in the area during application. For any requirements specific to your State or Tribe, consult the State or Tribal agency responsible for pesticide regulation.
    • READ ENTIRE LABEL AND PAMPHLET. USE STRICTLY IN ACCORDANCE WITH PRECAUTIONARY STATEMENTS AND DIRECTIONS AND WITH APPLICABLE STATE AND FEDERAL REGULATIONS.
    Directions For Use
    • Do not contaminate water, food, or feed by storage, disposal, or cleaning of equipment. Open dumping is prohibited.
    • Pesticide Storage: Keep pesticide in original container. Do not put concentrate or dilute into food or drink containers. Store in cool, dry place. Protect from excessive heat. Do not contaminate food or foodstuffs. Do not store or transport near feed or food. For help with any spill, leak, fire or exposure involving this material, call CHEMTREC 1-800-424-9300.
    • Pesticide Disposal: Wastes resulting from the use of this product may be disposed of on site or at an approved waste disposal facility. [Plastic bottles packaging:]
    • Container Handling: Nonrefillable container. Do not reuse or refill this container. Triple rinse or pressure rinse container (or equivalent) promptly after emptying. Triple rinse as follows: Empty the remaining contents into application equipment or a mix tank. Fill the container ¼ full with water and recap. Shake for 10 seconds. Pour rinsate into application equipment or a mix tank.
    • Drain for 10 seconds after the flow begins to drip. Repeat this procedure two more times. Pressure rinse as follows: Empty the remaining contents into application equipment or a mix tank. Hold container upside down over application equipment or mix tank or collect rinsate for later use or disposal. Insert pressure rinsing nozzle in the side of the container, and rinse at about 40 PSI for at least 30 seconds. Drain for 10 seconds after the flow begins to drip.
    • Once triple rinsed, recycle if available. Some agricultural pesticide containers can be taken to a container collection site or picked up for recycling. To find the nearest site, contact your chemical dealer or manufacturer. If recycling is not available, dispose of in a sanitary landfill or by incineration if allowed by State and local ordinances. [Fiber Drums with Liners:]
    • Container Handling: Nonrefillable container. Do not reuse or refill this container. Completely empty liner by shaking and tapping sides and bottom to loosen clinging particles. Empty residue into the handling or application equipment. Then offer for recycling if available, or dispose of liner in a sanitary landfill, or by incineration, or by other procedures allowed by State and local authorities. If drum is contaminated and cannot be reused, dispose of it in the manner required for its liner.

    Hazards to Human and Domestic Animals - Harmful if absorbed through skin. Harmful if swallowed. Avoid contact with skin, eyes, or clothing

    Personal Protective Equipment - Mixers, loaders, applicators and other handlers (including during mixing/loading, repair and cleaning of equipment, and disposal of
    pesticide) must wear:

    • Long-sleeved shirt and long pants
    • Shoes plus socks
    • Chemical-resistant gloves made of any waterproof material (such as polyethylene or polyvinyl chloride)

    In addition, all mixers/loaders must wear a NIOSH - approved dust/mist filtering respirator with MSHA/NIOSH - approval number prefix TC - 21C or a NIOSH - approved respirator with any N, R, P, or HE filter. See “ENGINEERING CONTROLS” for additional requirements. Discard clothing and other absorbent materials that have been drenched or heavily contaminated with this product’s concentrate. Do not reuse them. Follow manufacturer’s instructions for cleaning/maintaining PPE. If no such instructions for washables exist, use detergent and hot water. Keep and wash PPE separately from other laundry.

    Environmental Hazards
    • This pesticide is toxic to birds. Do not apply directly to water, or to areas where surface water is present or to intertidal areas below the mean high water mark. Do not contaminate water by cleaning of equipment or disposal of wastes. Cover or soil-incorporate spills.
    • This product is highly toxic to bees exposed to direct treatment or residues on blooming crops or residues on blooming crops or weeds. Do not apply this product or allow it to drift to blooming crops or weeds if bees are foraging the treatment area.
