Identification & Functionality

Features & Benefits

Features
  • Specially designed for adhesion and/or sealing of EPDM, roof, façade, floor and pond structures.
  • Sealing of connecting joints in the construction industry.
  • Adhesion of building materials, such as plastics, mineral/coarse & rough surfaces, metals, alloys, treated and untreated wood, concrete and coating, lacquer and paint systems.
  • Repair adhesive for old MS-Polymer connecting joints and adhesion of materials to one another.
Properties
  • Adheres perfectly to EPDM and most surfaces, even moist & damp surfaces without a primer
  • Very durable with retained high elongation properties
  • Wet-on-wet application
  • Non-shrink and blister-free
  • Almost odorless curing MS-Polymer system
  • Good resistance to UV, weather, water, moisture and aging
  • Non-corrosive to metals
  • Free of isocyanate, solvents and silicone
  • Paintable with water-based and synthetic paint systems
  • Versatile applications as adhesive and/or sealant, for internal and external use
  • Excellent absorption of acoustic and mechanical vibrations
  • No edge contamination or staining on natural stone

Applications & Uses

Cure Method
Cleaning Agent

Roca Cleaner R5518 (equipment)

Notes During Application
  • Application temperature (ambience and surface) between +5°C and +40°C.
  • Apply on stable, compatible, dry, uncontaminated, greasefree and dust-free surface.
  • Ensure correct joint dimensions are achieved and fill with MonoSealant for maximum movement performance.
  • Use a suitable brush to remove any loose particles from the surface.
  • Properly degrease greasy surface.
  • MonoSealant has a broad adhesion spectrum, but highly porous surfaces and non-porous surfaces with minimal bonding should be treated with a suitable primer.
Surface and Circumstances

Moisture Content Surface:

  • Cement-bound : < 4% CM (parts by weights)
  • Plaster-bound : < 0.5% CM (parts by weights)
Paintability

It is excellently paintable with emulsion paints. However, synthetic paints may dry slowly.

Limitations & Recommendations
  • Not suitable for continuous water loads or dilation or glazing joints.
  • Not suitable for applications in direct contact with natural stone, foodstuffs or the silver coating on mirrors.
  • Not suitable for PE, PP, PC, PMMA, PTFE, soft plastic and neoprene.
  • The adhesion on bitumen is limited to breakage in the surface. Not fungicidal.
  • Ensure adequate humidity in the immediate environment.
  • We recommend testing adhesion and material compatibility in advance.
