Lytex® ESC® consists of chopped fiberglass or carbon fiber in a specially formulated epoxy resin matrix. This results in high strength and cost-effective solutions for tough composite design problems.
Lytex® high fiber reinforced epoxies deliver superior shear strength and thermal stability, and have higher flexural strength at elevated temperature than polyesters and vinyl esters. They also exhibit very good retention of flexural strength after cycling. Lytex 9063 is 63% fiberglass-reinforced epoxy. Lytex 4149 is 55% carbon fiber reinforced. 
Short curing cycle compared to conventional epoxy pre pregs, laminates, compounds and molding processes. Design flexibility in terms of 3-D geometry and varying part / cross section thickness.  Ability to mold thick cross sections (e.g. 3" plus)

Lytex

The AMC® 8500 family of materials is designed for structural applications requiring high stiffness and high strength, particularly open- and filled-hole tension and compression. This material system is specifically designed for compression molding of complex geometries, where traditional laminated prepreg solutions are not as cost- and weight-effective.
AMC® 8500 ESC® (Engineered Structural Composite) is a snap cure Vinyl Ester resin system specifically designed for advanced Sheet Molding Compound (SMC) applications. With this hybridized resin system we are able to impart the quick processing and long shelf life of traditional unsaturated polyester resin, while retaining the high strength, toughness and environmental resistance of epoxy resin.
The AMC® 8500 discontinuous fibers consist of various materials offerings with varying fiber length and carbon fiber tow size. The AMC® 8593 system offers the highest mechanical properties and lowest variability of the family.
AMC®-8590-12CFH, Quantum's first hybrid carbon fiber material is the newest addition to the AMC-8500 ESC® series. The hybrid material offers the performance benefits of carbon fiber at a cost similar to high-performance fiberglass. It is easily moldable, delivering parts that are high strength, low density, and resistant to fatigue.
The workhorse of the family is the AMC® 8590 12K fiber system, which is designed for standard structural applications.
Unidirectional (AMC® 8595) and Fabric (AMC® 8575) carbon fiber materials are designed to be utilized in conjunction with the random chopped material to selective and locally impart increased mechanical performance or damage resistance. They can also be used as stand-alone products.

For outstanding high-temperature performance over and above epoxy (Lytex®) and phenolic ESC® materials, Sheet Molding Compounds using Bismaleimide (BMI) and Polyimide resin matrices combined with carbon fiber or fiberglass reinforcements are available for compression molded parts solutions.
High-Temperature Composite (HTC) BMI materials can be molded at 325°F with a 700°F post cure and produce a Tg of 714°F / 379°C.
Proprietary blends of high-temperature polyimide resins reinforced with carbon or glass fiber. These unique high-temperature materials provide outstanding mechanical strength and wear resistance up to 600°F / 315°C. Polyimide materials are especially suitable for high volume, high-temperature continuous process equipment and aircraft applications.

Lytex® 9063-E is an epoxy high performance, fiberglass reinforced ESC® molding compound designed for military and aerospace structural applications requiring excellent mechanical properties, retention of properties at elevated temperatures, good chemical resistance and excellent electrical properties. It meets the requirements of MIL-M-46069 and MIL-M-46892.

Quantum Composites QC-8705 is a vinyl ester ESC® molding compound reinforced with continuous, unidirectional (0°) glassfibers. It provides high strength,stiffness, and fatigue resistance in the fiber direction, and can be used to selectively reinforce other materials.

Quantum Composites QC-8700 is a vinyl ester chopped E-glass fiber reinforced ESC® molding compound. It is easily moldable and provides parts that are high strength, fatigue resistant, with high heat resistance. It exhibits unusual toughness, and is suggested for applications subject to impacts and rough handling.

Quantum Composites QC-8800 is a polyester hybrid ESC® molding compound designed for compression molding of components requiring high structural strength. It exhibits unusual toughness, and is suggested for applications subject to impacts and rough handling. QC-8800 is also suggested for applications requiring excellent fatigue resistance.

Quantum Composites QC-2150LD is a chopped E-glass fiber reinforced ESC® molding compound. It exhibits outstanding low flammability characteristics. It is recommended for applications such as aircraft interiors and public transportation components requiring composite materials having very low flammability, low smoke, and minimal generation of toxic gasses.
