Effect of Magnolia bark extract on intracellular lipid accumulation during adipocyte differentiation
During the differentiation of 3T3-L1 preadipocytes to adipocytes the cells were treated with Magnolia bark extract, and intracellular lipid content was measured. Magnolia bark extract at 50ug/ml suppressed lipid accumulation by 80%.
Effect of Magnolia bark extract on expression of transcriptional factors
To investigate the inhibitory mechanism of Magnolia bark extract during the differentiation period, the expression of transcriptional factors for adipocyte differentiation were examined. As a result we have showed the Magnolia bark extract can inhibit of adipocyte differentiation and induced lipolysis in the adipocyte.
