Rexall Laboratories and Chemicals METHANOL is used primarily for thin-ning shellac. It is also appropriate for cleaning brushes that have been used with shellac, dissolving gums, resins, and celluloid and as fuel for fondues or marine unpressurized alcohol stoves.

Acetone evaporates quickly, and leaves no residue. Acetone can also be used to clean up dried latex paint, lacquers, and adhesives.
