"Rodenburg’s activities started in 1945, shortly after the war. Arie Rodenburg started with trading of plant derived products. First to private individuals, but once the market began to grow, business to industries expanded. Already from the beginning, we converted by-products and waste streams from the potato processing industry. The products went into cattle feed and soon we were one of the leading forage businesses in The Netherlands and Benelux. The market grew and the second generation took over. In 1996 we saw a decline in the agricultural sector as well as the cattle feed industry. That was the moment Rodenburg started to look for alternative, innovative markets for the by-products."
