- Product Highlights
Pterocarpus marsupium is an important medicinal plant commonly called as Indian Kino tree. It has been documented in traditional and local medicinal practices viz., Ayurveda, Homeopathic and Unani systems for its wide range of health-based applications. The heartwood of the plant has been shown to improve blood sugar level, helps to reduce inflammation and resolve pain (Saidur Rahman et al. 2018).
The active component of the heartwood is pterostilbene, a stilbenoid chemically related to resveratrol, has been supported for its utilization in several age-related disorders and aging symptoms by modulating age-related mechanisms viz., antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and anti-glycation pathways (Li and Lin 2018).

PteroWhite® conveniently blends with cosmetic formulations, to offer antioxidant coverage and protection against ultraviolet light, effectively lighten skin tone, and reduce the appearance of wrinkles and sun damage. All mentioned activities have been supported by laboratory studies and are mediated through UV absorption, radical scavenging, and modulation of melanin production. The antioxidant activity of PteroWhite® is comparable to resveratrol and kojic acid.
At 0.1-0.5% w/w in cosmetic formulations, PteroWhite® is more efficacious than resveratrol, in supporting skin texture and tone, on account of its improved stability.
