Salibide DMI is a unique solvent for pharmaceutical and cosmetic applications. It offers excellent solvent properties for a variety of organic active and functional ingredients such as Sunscreens, Cortisone, Vitamins etc. It is soluble in all proportions with water and is also soluble in a variety of other medium, such as cosmetic esters, alcohol or polyols. Salibide DMI can therefore be easily formulated in diverse forms, water-base formulations, emulsions, sticks etc.

Solubility

Soluble in Emollient, Cottonseed Oil, Isopropanol, Isopropyl Myristate, Propylene Glycol, TWEEN® 20 or TWEEN® 80 Surfactant and Water. Insoluble in Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Lanolin and Mineral oil or Silicon oil (DC 200 Fluid).

Active Delivery Enhancement

Salibide DMI (INCI: Dimethyl Isosorbide) can be used to aid penetration of actives into the epidermis where they will act more effectively. While providing excellent targeted delivery of the active to the epidermis, DMI does not promote penetration of the active into the blood stream.
