UCOAT UWS-145 has the following features:
- This product does not become a fire hazard, and is a solventless type, minimizing adverse effects on the atmosphere and working environment. This product forms paint films having high water resistance because it is a self-emulsification type polyurethane without a surfactant.
- This product forms excellent glossy paint films when used as a pigment dispersing resin for paint due to its high pigment dispersibility.
- This product can be used as a coating agent for metal and other materials which requires bending and deep drawing in their processing because it forms tough, elastic paint film.
- This product enhances paint film (water and solvent resistance, etc.) when a cross-linking agent* which is dissolved or dispersed in water is used together.

The following are application methods of UCOAT UWS-145 used as a pigment dispersing resin for paint.
1. Preparation of Pigment Dispersion
- When a pigment dispersion is prepared, UCOAT UWS-145 should be uniformly dispersed in pigment (recommended amount: 5−150 wt % for this product) using a ball mill, a sand mill, High-Speed Disper, or other equipment. At this time, this product can be mixed with additives such as defoaming agents (silicone type, mineral oil type, etc.), antisagging agents (cellulose type, polyacrylate type, etc.) and antifreezing agents (ethylene glycol, glycerin, etc.).
2. Preparation of Paint
- When paint is prepared, pigment dispersion containing UCOAT UWS-145 should be mixed with various resin emulsions, and additives (film formation aid, antiseptics, etc.) as necessary.
- When this product is used with cross-linking agents (epoxy type, melamine type, or other types of agents, which are dissolved or dispersed in water), this product should be mixed with them immediately before using as paint for coating.

1. Pigment Dispersibility
- UCOAT UWS-145 has high pigment dispersibility, and forms excellent glossy paint films
2. Adhesion to Base Materials
- paint film of UCOAT UWS-145 exhibits excellent adhesion to base materials.
3. Water and Solvent Resistance, and Tensile Properties
- By using a combination of UCOAT UWS-145 and a cross-linking agent, water and solvent resistance and tensile strength at break of paint film are significantly improved. However, elongation at break of the paint film decreases.
4. Flexibility
- Paint film of UCOAT UWS-145 exhibits excellent flexibility.
