- Product Background
Psidium guajava is a small tree native to South America belonging to the Myrtaceae family. Very popular in the West Indies, this plant is known locally as “guava” (english), “goyavier” (french) or “guayabo” (spanish). It’s a part of traditional regional remedies and integrated in the Traditional Caribbean Pharmacopeia. Due to its various therapeutical et nutraceutical properties, Martinique island has structured a sector of the pink guava thanks to the establishment of several orchards for the plantation of guavas. Today, Martinique is self-sufficient in fruit.
