PERLAN is a plant growth regulator that should be applied to some apple and pear cultivars. In fact, in certain environmental situations the fruits of apples belonging to the group of red Delicious and Golden Delicious, both normal and spur, tend to take on a basically flattened shape: the PERLAN used with the technique indicated below, determines a modification of the shape (elongation ) in the sense foreseen by the varietal standards of the most suitable areas (hill mountain) for the production of these cultivars. The product also prevents or substantially reduces russeting on apples of the Golden Delicious variety, thus avoiding an important cause of the depreciation of production. The use of PERLAN on young apple trees not yet in production favors the emission of the buds, the early opening of the branches, improving their angle, and accelerates the entry into production of the plant.
Applications & Uses
- Markets
- Applications
- Use
- Determines elongation of the shape of the fruits on apples in the group Red Delicious, both standard and spur
- On Golden Delicious it prevents russeting.
- On the varieties of the Gala group it can reduce the alternation and improve the production of the first detachment.
- Product Application
Crop Advantages Period of Application Dose Note Farms - Side jet emission
- Early opening of the branches
From apical bud of 5 - 7 cm and 4 - 6 leaves not yet extended at intervals of 5 - 7 days. 500 ml/hl Advance of entry into production 750 ml/hl Use 0.5ml to wet the apical bud. Plants in Production Fruit thinning Fruits of 12 - 14 mm in diameter on wood of 2 or more years. 250-1000 ml/ The thinning effect is greater when combined with NAA or NAD. Farms - Side jet emission
- Early opening of the branches
From apical bud of 5 - 7 cm and 4 - 6 leaves not yet extended at intervals of 5 - 7 days. 750 ml/hl Advance of entry into production 750 - 1000 ml (In 20l/water) Use 0.5ml to wet the apical bud. - Warnings
- Always add 100 ml/hl of a non-ionic wetting agent, taking care to put it before the PERLAN.
- Pour the established dose of PERLAN into about half the quantity of water and, keeping the solution constantly stirring, add more water until the required volume is reached.
- Keep the solution thus prepared under constant stirring also during the distribution phase (the solution must be used within 24 hours of its preparation)
- Use by spraying with a finely nebulized jet and uniformly wet the flower mass without however exceeding so as not to g 1,8 get to dripping
- The total quantity of solution per hectare will depend on the development of the plants and the type of farming (eg: 9 - 14 hl/ha).
- Treat only when it is foreseeable that it will not rain for a period of at least 4 - 6 hours later the application.
- Having to apply PERLAN after a rain, wait for the vegetation to be completely dry.
- Treat preferably in the late afternoon
- Do not treat if temperatures below 7°C or above 32°C are expected
