    Safety

Pullulan passed the GRAS certification of the US FDA in 2002. China approved it for use as a food additive in 2006 and was included in the "Chinese Name Catalog of International Cosmetic Ingredient Standards" in 2010. Although pullulan has only been used for 10 years in my country, it has been used for nearly 40 years abroad. Long-term observations show that it can be used safely in food and medicine. It is classified as an additive without restrictions in Japan along with starch.
