Nanocream® is a combination of vegetable-based substances, lipoaminoacids and palm glycerides, able to create translucent micellar emulsions, with particularly fine particles dimension: from 100 to 300 nm. It forms stable systems with a low interfacial tension and is an excellent carrier for cosmetic active ingredients. Ideal for sprayable emulsions, hyperfluid emulsions, wet wipes.

Features & Benefits

Product Features
  • Nanocream® is a novel emulsifier indicated for fluid O/W emulsions with particularly low particle size of the droplets (100-300 ηm).
  • It works to create spontaneously nano-sized droplets of the dispersed phase in emulsions. When oils are added, simulating a cosmetic product formulation, small sized droplets are obtained.
  • Nanoemulsions made using Nanocream® show extraordinary stability, sharply defined particle size distributions, with low (pump sprayable) viscosities.
  • It easily vehicles several functional cosmetic ingredients.
  • Translucid micellar emulsions
  • Stable systems
  • Low viscosity products

Formulation Guidelines

Add the oily phase (oils, esters, liposoluble ingredients, etc.) and heat to not more than 60-70°C depending on the melting points of the oil phase components until complete solubilisation. Mix with a blade impeller (150-250 rpm) for 10-12 minutes until obtaining an uniform and homogeneous phase. Heat the 25-30% (w/w) of water included in the formula at 70°C.

Before combining the phases, be sure that the oil and the water phases are at the same temperature.

Add very slowly small amounts of water into the oily phase until a viscous lipogel of bluish coloration is obtained (Tindall effect). This color is typical of the nanosized droplets produced and must be obtained during this step. Mix for a few minutes.

Prepare the remaining water phase, dissolving all the water soluble components of the formula (preservatives, humectants, rheological additives, etc.). Add this phase to the viscous gel and continue stirring for a few minutes up to homogeneous system.
