Obtained by the encapsulation under high pressure homogenization of Ethyl Ximenynate into lipophilic vesicles constituted by Lecithin.
Features & Benefits
- Labeling Claims
- Product Background
Ethyl Ximenynate is obtained by esterification of Ximenynic Acid from Ximenia (Olacaceae families).
Ethyl Ximenynate has a renown effect on the metabolism of arachidonic acid by:
- Preventing the release of arachidonic acid from membrane phospholipids by acting on phospholipases.
- Preventing the cause of edema and swelling: the generation of edematogenic leukotrienes by lipoxygenases(LO)
- Preventing cycloxygenases(COX) and the generation of PGE2,that increases capillary leaking and slows down microcirculation.

Technical Details & Test Data
- Efficacy Tests
In vitro:
- Actina gene expression profile evaluation
- in vitro skin irritation Not Irritant
- in vitro eye irritation Mild Irritant
- Nitric oxide production
Nitric oxide release
Goal
Nitric oxide is an important intra and extra-cellular messenger, in particular it is involved in vessel smooth muscles contraction. Nitric oxide induces relaxation of vascular smooth muscle and inhibits vascular hyper tension.
Cell Model
Human fibroblasts
Samples
- X-Solve: diluted at 0,25 μl/ml , 0,5 μl/ml and 1 μl/ml
- Negative control: Untreated cell
Nitric Oxide Determination
Colorimetric assay (absorbance)
Nitic Oxide Release
X-Solve is able to increase extracellular nitric oxide production (+37%) after 48 hours of treatment, in a dose dependent way.
Actin Expression
Goal
Fibroblasts are the main cell component in the connective tissue of the dermis and they are able to synthesize actin, a contractile protein. The ability of a product/substance to increase actin synthesis in fibroblasts, suggests a role in improving the tone and texture of the dermis.
Cell Model
Human fibroblasts
Samples
- X-Solve: Sample diluted at 0,25 μl/ml
- Negative control: Untreated cells
Actin Expression Determination
Real Time PCR (double strand dye)
X-Solve is able to increase actin expression in human fibroblasts
In vivo:
- Study on the vasoactive effect
Cutaneous Microcirculation
The technique is based on the emission of a scanning beam of laser light. The light is scattered (Doppler shift) and partly absorbed by the tissue.
The magnitude and frequency distribution of these changes in wavelength are directly related to the number and velocity of the blood cells in the sample volume. The information is picked up by a returning fiber, converted into an electronic signal and analyzed.
Microcirculation Improvement
Xsolve is able to improve the capillary flow on thigh (+29%) in comparison to the non–encapsulated form already after 30 minutes. This finding highlights the ability of encapsulation in delivering the active ingredient and achieving a shorter time efficacy.

Storage & Handling
- Storage
Keep product in a cool place away from light. Store in an air-tight container. Do not store when temperature could be higher then 25°-30° C When stored at 2-8 °C shelf-life will be enhanced and before use in final form it suggested to keep at room temperature.
