Applications

smart ZINC hot melt additives are formulated as masterbatches for use in thermoplastic processing. Their additive use takes place through typical dosing processes in extrusion, coextrusion or synthetic fiber melt spinning. The masterbatches can be easily integrated into existing processing lines. The typical process parameters remain unchanged.

Areas of Application

smart ZINC hot melt masterbatches are optimized for the antimicrobial functionalization of synthetic fibers, films or in injection molding. Due to the existing know-how, tailor-made formulations for special applications can be offered. In addition to functional injection molded articles, the main area of application is in synthetic fibers for ready-made sportswear and activewear, medical textiles and technical fibers.

Packaging & Availability

Availability

smart ZINC hot melt masterbatches are available in different types. A standard masterbatch Z13 is available for injection molding, which can be used for process temperatures of up to 350°C. The product portfolio can also be expanded or optimized for specific applications by our experts in cooperation with our customers.

Availability

In addition to the injection molding masterbatch, two other zinc additives have been developed, which differ in terms of a coordinated organic microencapsulation depending on the requirement profile. By optimizing these components, products became accessible that are particularly suitable for melt spinning technologies for the production of multifilaments from synthetic polymers such as polyamide 6, -6.6 and polyester (PET).
