SOMEZ history begins in the 70’s when a group of scientists passionate about the zeolites exceptional properties, create the Natural Zeolites Application and Promotion Center (CAPZEN). In 1984, CAPZEN became the Mediterranean Company of Zeolites (SOMEZ): it is the birth of the French natural zeolites specialist. SOMEZ started by investing the pet sectors, the aquarium and horticulture sectors, creating its first brands GermoFlor, MediBird and BactoFilt. Over the last decade, SOMEZ became the French reference in zeolites applied to nuclear protection; it has contributed to the development of a new generation of ultrahydrophobic MFI-type zeolites, and opened a new field of study in nanotechnology with “molecular springs”. SOMEZ provides zeolite materials and original solutions implementing their specific properties. SOMEZ ambition is to be a major player in the special zeolite markets and their applications.

SILIZ BIO

Zeopool® is a filtration media adapted to any type of swimming pool sand filter. It eliminates the ammonium at the origin of the chloramines formation. It removes particles ten times smaller as those filtered by sand thanks to its sharpness of greater filtration capacity and allows having clear and pure water. It reduces the chemical’s need (chlorine, algaecides) for a better bathing comfort.

ZEOPOOL®

Siliz Epure® is our special material for sanitation of urban and domestic wastewater. It has product properties like odor adsorption, pH adjustment, enhances the value of COD, BOD5 and NH4 in the runoff and prevents expansion during the formation of sludge.

SILIZ EPURE®

Collofiltre® is a modified natural zeolite designed for the removal of manganese and colloidal iron from fresh water. Collofiltre® is applied to the drinking water, water for aquaculture, aquariums, ornamental ponds and swimming pools.

COLLOFILTRE®

ZeoBat® LZC is a cement additive. It reduces the density of the finished product while increasing its resistance to compression. ZeoBat-LZC significantly improves concrete durability, mechanical, acoustic and thermal (fire-resistant properties) performances and their resistance to corrosion.

ZEOBAT® LZC

Siliz Bio® is a zeolite specially selected for water purification in natural pools, natural swimming pools and wastewater biofiltration systems. Siliz Bio® comes in various sizes for filters and gravitational filtration and pools bottom. The bluish gray color of Siliz Bio® and the smooth aspect add a nice decorative element to effective properties of the filter media.
