Active_O works against bacteria (e.g. Staphyloscoccus aureus or Escherichia coli), against viruses (e.g. Herpes simplex), against fungi (e.g. Aspergillus niger) as well as against multi-resistant germs and corona viruses.

The energy of the incident light is transferred to the neighboring oxygen molecules by the Active_O photocatalyst. This high-energy form of normal oxygen (singlet oxygen) only has a short lifespan, so it cannot accumulate in the ambient air and can therefore develop its full effectiveness on the surface.
- The antimicrobial paint system is available as a 2K polyurethane paint in the gloss levels gloss, satin and matt and can be painted over all conventional 2K systems.
