Southwest Fireproofing Products are spray-applied cementitious fireproofing materials and accessory products for use with our fireproofing. They have a base of gypsum or to Portland cement with the necessary aggregates, fillers and additives factory blended to assure proper composition. Only water is added on the job. Therefore, the proper composition is also assured in the applied products. Setting and curing after spray-application as a wet slurry creates the durable monolithic coating of well adhered fireproofing. The optimized formulations and extensive testing of our products in combination with the wet slurry application process produces many beneficial properties.

Type 5MD is a Cementitious Fireproofing in the medium density group. Our products in this density range exactly target specific service conditions. Type 5MDTM is the optimum choice for medium density service conditions unless prolonged moisture exposure is a Concern.

Type 7TB is a protective Thermal Barrier formulated with Portland cement and vermiculite for direct application to cellular plastic foams.

Type 1XR is a high density Cementitious Fireproofing tested for petrochemical fires and exterior service conditions. 1XR is designed for use on both exterior and interior structures where fire resistance as well as physical damage or chemical exposure are concerns.

Type 5EF is a cementitious fireproofing material in the standard density group as defined by industry practice. It is specifically designed for protection of electrified floor deck designs as listed by Underwriters Laboratories.

Type 5MD™ is designed for the fire protection of interior structural columns, beams, joists, decks, walls, roofs, girders, floors and precast concrete units. It is tested and certified for fire resistance ratings up to 4 hours.

Type 5MD™

Type 7TB™ is a thermal barrier for plastic foams formulated with vermiculite and Portland cement. The formulation cures to form a medium density, polymer modified cementitious fire barrier to provide code required finish ratings to foam plastics.

Type 1XR™ is a spray-applied formulation of vermiculite lightweight concrete that is known throughout the construction and refractory industries for superior service in applications requiring fire resistance or high temperature service. Successful testing of Type 1XR™ includes the UL 1709 rapid temperature rise petrochemical fire test as well as standard ASTM E-119 building fire tests.

Type DK™ spatter coat is a substrate pre-coat that is applied to decks and other surfaces to improve fireproofing retention during fire exposure. It is a factory blended dry product that is mixed with water on the job and spray-applied with standard equipment.

Type 7GP™ cementitious fireproofing is spray-applied to structural components of buildings for fire resistance. Underwriters Laboratories fire test results have qualified it for use in over 100 designs.

Type 7HD™ is a spray-applied, factory blended cementitious fireproofing. Type 7HD™ is high density to resist accidental physical damage. The primary use of Type 7HD™ is for protection of columns and beams. When used on floor or roof decks attachment of metal lath is required prior to application.

Type 7HD™

Type HC™ card clad is a high density cladding applied as a surface layer of one eighth to one quarter inch thick. The formulation cures to form a tough polymer modified vermiculite and Portland cement of 60 pound per cubic foot density. It’s strength and toughness upgrades the surface properties of standard density, medium density or high density fireproofing.
